Ingredients
  • 1cup granulated white sugar
  • 1cup Steen’s 100% Pure Cane Syrupsubstitue a brand of your choosing of 100% pure cane syrup
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2cups all purpose flour
  • 1tsp baking soda
  • 1/2cup vegetable oil
  • 1cup boiling water
  • 1tsp vanilla
  • 1/2cup pecans, choppedoptional
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour a 9 x 13 x 2 baking pan.
  2. Combine sugar, syrup, eggs, flour, baking soda and oil in a mixing bowl and mix until all ingredients are well combined. Add vanilla to boiling water and pour into other ingredients. Please note that the batter will be very thin. Stir in chopped pecans.
  3. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake approximately 30 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean and cake springs back when touched.
  4. Allow to cool in pan. Cut into squares and enjoy.
